Description
Sourcing decisions shape the quality of the work before a single stem is conditioned. A florist with strong supplier relationships, a clear understanding of seasonal availability, and a reliable grading process at intake produces more consistent work at lower cost than one who sources reactively and accepts whatever arrives. This module builds the knowledge and systems behind that kind of sourcing practice.
You’ll work with:
- Seasonal availability mapping: understanding peak windows, off-season sourcing options, and how to advise clients on what’s achievable in a given month
- Intake grading: assessing stem quality, identifying damage, and making accept or return decisions at delivery
- Supplier relationship management: communication cadence, order accuracy, and handling quality issues without damaging working relationships
Timeline: +/- 4 hours
Outcome: A sourcing approach that is proactive rather than reactive — with the supplier relationships, seasonal knowledge, and intake process to ensure consistent flower quality from purchase through to client delivery.
