Description
Underpricing is the most common financial problem in small floral operations, and it rarely feels like a mistake until the margin is already gone. The issue isn’t that florists don’t want to charge enough — it’s that most pricing approaches in the industry don’t account fully for the actual cost of delivering the work. Stem cost gets calculated; conditioning time, design time, delivery, waste allowance, and overhead usually don’t. The result is a price that sounds reasonable and a job that loses money.
You’ll work with:
- Full cost-of-goods calculation: stem cost, sundries, waste factor, and packaging at the job level
- Labor and time costing: valuing design, preparation, conditioning, and delivery time accurately
- Pricing structure for different channels: retail, event, and wholesale pricing logic and the margin differences between them
Timeline: +/- 5 hours
Outcome: A pricing methodology that accounts for the full cost of your work — producing prices that are financially sound, consistently applied, and defensible to clients without apology.
