Description
Large-scale floral installations operate under a different set of constraints than arrangement work. The structural demands are greater, the flower selection criteria shift toward durability and display behavior rather than just aesthetics, and the logistics of building something at scale on-site — often under time pressure and in front of a client — require a level of preparation that smaller work doesn’t. This module is built for florists who are ready to take on that kind of work seriously.
You’ll work with:
- Structural engineering basics: framework types, weight distribution, and fixings for different installation surfaces and contexts
- Flower selection for display longevity: species behavior at room temperature, hydration systems for large-scale work, and managing deterioration across a multi-day event
- Installation planning and execution: site assessment, build sequencing, team coordination, and contingency planning for large-format jobs
Timeline: +/- 8 hours
Outcome: The technical and logistical foundation to plan and execute large-scale floral installations with confidence — from structural design through on-site build, with the preparation systems that make complex jobs manageable.
