Description
Event floristry is a different discipline from retail floristry, and the gap between them catches a lot of florists off guard the first time they take on a large wedding or corporate event. The creative work is familiar; the production management is not. Quantities that need to be ordered days in advance, installation timelines that don’t allow for problems, logistical coordination across multiple venues or spaces — all of it requires planning systems that retail work rarely develops.
You’ll work with:
- Brief interpretation: translating client language into specific design decisions and accurate stem quantities
- Production scheduling: building backwards from installation time through preparation, conditioning, and ordering windows
- Installation management: sequencing on-site work, managing the team if applicable, and handling the inevitable last-minute variables
Timeline: +/- 7 hours
Outcome: A production framework for event floristry that reduces the operational stress of large jobs — giving you a reliable system for quoting, preparing, and delivering event work at a professional standard.
